Gold4RS vs Jagex, who will win?

The battle between Gold4RS and Jagex may have begun, but our customers will never be at any risk, all of your order details and correspondence is kept under tight security and will remain with us no matter what the outcome is. Because we want to provide continuous in-game services and we do not want a possibility of further unexpected disruption from Jagex, so we will move to Gold4Fun.com soon, all our servers, databases, order history and even Gold4RS layout will be moved to Gold4Fun.com, buying and selling at Gold4Fun.com will be exactly the same as on Gold4RS.com. Even if Jagex wins this case eventually, all they could take over is just the domain, so it's just going to be a domain switch nothing more! But obviously we will continue to fill more appeals and take legal actions to protect the Gold4RS domain, it's totally unacceptable for them to take over anyone's domain just because of it contains a generic term "RS" in it!

Maybe they will take some advantages in court, but they will never stop us from helping you. The majority of players are not willing to sacrifice a whole day sitting at their computer swinging an axe at a willow, so they would be considered as a "noob" in game, they need Gold4RS just like how much they need Free Trade to return, which was removed by Jagex back in late 2007 and re-introduced early this year because of significant decrease in subscription revenue, it's human instinct to hand over all the time consuming tasks to Gold4RS when you're supposed to be at somewhere else instead of your computers, and it's basic in-game activity to trade with each other freely, players have their rights to buy or sell stuff or give out as gifts that they spend time gaining legally, real world trading does not mean botting, botting has always been strictly forbidden at Gold4RS over the years and is something that's harmful to the game. Gold4RS.COM Domain Hijacked by Jagex!

Dear customers,

Today we are sad to announce that the Gold4RS domain has been hijacked by Jagex and is most likely going to be replaced with Gold4Fun.com. We felt to make the whole procedural history known to everyone.

Over last few months we have been dealing with our legal advisor in US in regards to the dispute filed by Jagex at WIPO, with the intention to hijack Gold4RS domain, their only contention is that the term "Gold4RS" is "Identical or confusingly similar" to their registered trade mark RUNESCAPE, so they want Gold4RS to be transferred to their possession. As we all know, they cannot monopolize the use of generic terms and common words in domain names. Further, generic words or common terms cannot give rise to trade mark rights. However, somehow the Panel stands on their side has fulfilled their attempts to hijack Gold4RS domain.

Why would they do this? Because in the aim to feed their greedy appetite for revenue they want players to spend as much of their life time grinding in game, according to Jagex's contention, the company's "turnover over the period 2002 - 2010 was approximately 171 million pounds", and they are still looking for more by forcing us to spend hours over hours of our life time at our computers repeating their pre-made gaming procedures over and over again boringly, disregarding players gaming experience and their human rights of playing the game more flexibly and enjoyably, from the Report Card Contest and Fathers Day event we hosted this May and June (which can be found here and here), thousands of players and their parents joined in the events and over 90% of them have shown great substantial concerns about the game occupying too much of their childs daily time, as a result they are always glued to the computer, which is definitely negative influence to their school performance, social activities, and even their future career!

Jagexs money conscious intentions can always be seen in big companies, maybe they should show some respect for all the Gold and Stuff we spend time in game gaining instead of alleging it all belongs to their property, maybe they should never have taken away Free Trade and restricted the freedom of in game trades. Here at Gold4RS we're only offering services that are ancillary and complimentary to the game, and most importantly, we help players enjoy the most fun part of the game whilst save a tremendous amount of their life time from grinding monotonously in repeated game procedures and tasks, of which the time should be spent on studies, homeworks, family and friends gatherings, or anything else in real life, just like the Gold4RS slogan says: have fun in game, save time for life.
